  • Hey guys, just my 2 cent: I think a lot of innovation happens all the time in our industry. And much of it is enabled by the high integration of components etc. I guess most of it is just on a smaller more gradual scale. Much of it happens behind closed doors as well. the company I work for currently develops a temperature measurement system using ultrasound. To our knowledge this haa not been done before for a industrial setting and the target product size (box of matches size). I just want to say that cool stuff is happening all the time, but it's probably not the stuff that's out there that much. We use a STM32F4xx series MCU for the user application and the necessary math, comms etc. We are extremely happy with the chip itself, the supplied drivers and the toolchain we use. It's all free, Eclipse, gcc, openocd, some eclipse plugins, ST CubeMX software. I hope I could get your hopes up a bit and give you some input on your mcu question.
